Make your mark within the Taxation group as a director. This diverse team of professionals develops customized tax strategies in a complex and dynamic regulatory environment. As a trusted advisor, you will develop solutions to help our clients comply with tax and financial information requirements, mitigate risks, gain efficiency, and maximize their return.

Responsibilities

  • Lead several teams tasked with delivering tax mandates for clients.
  • Provide sectorial and technical expertise in taxation and certification through client exchanges, reports, technical work, presentations to management, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Analyze business processes and existing methods and provide advice on changes to tax policies and rules; develop proactive tax strategies that capitalize on business opportunities and promote efficient business exploitation.
  • Address client issues with the Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial ministries.
  • Prepare the necessary tax election forms for business reorganizations.
  • Participate in administrative management to ensure tax compliance for individuals and trusts during peak periods.
  • Manage a range of clients by understanding their activities, the main risks they face, and the ways to add value; ensure their needs are met, relationships are built, and accounts grow.
  • Take charge of the planning and organization of mandates as well as the financial parameters of projects (budgets, work in progress, billing, collection, and accounting of discrepancies).
  • Ensure high-quality control and apply your expertise to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues related to the company, client’s financial statements, and financial reports.
  • Network and prospect in the local business community; contribute to the preparation and submission of competitive service proposals that meet client needs.
  • Participate in the development of new ideas and methods to improve work procedures.
  • Provide mentorship to team members, motivate and guide them to improve and thrive through clear goals, regular feedback, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Be willing to travel, if necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • CPA designation
  • Successful completion of Level 1 of the Fundamental Tax Program and other specialization courses
  • 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or tax consulting services
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian taxation
  • Excellent understanding of business principles, accounting, management, and prospecting
  • Recognized leadership and proven abilities for personnel management and interpersonal relations
