General Technician (Internal)

Main Role

Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and restoration of new and used vehicles at the dealership, regardless of brand, to ensure their compliance, reliability, and market value before delivery or sale.

Main Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspection and Preparation

• Conduct complete inspections of new vehicles before delivery (PDI – Pre-Delivery Inspection).
• Perform mechanical inspections of used vehicles according to dealership standards.
• Identify necessary repairs to ensure the vehicle's safety, reliability, and legal compliance.
• Complete inspection reports and recommend necessary work.

Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform regular maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires, alignment, filters, fluids).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on all brands:
• Engine
• Transmission
• Brakes
• Suspension
• Steering
• Electrical and electronic systems
• Replace faulty parts according to manufacturer or dealership standards.
• Ensure repair quality to maximize customer satisfaction and vehicle value.

Work on New Vehicles

• Perform PDI according to manufacturer procedures.
• Install accessories (towing, protection, electronics).
• Check for software and electronic module updates.
• Prepare the vehicle for flawless delivery.

Work on Used Vehicles

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform necessary repairs to make the vehicle ready for sale.
• Collaborate with the sales department to prioritize vehicles for restoration.

Documentation and Communication

• Write work notes, diagnostics, and recommendations clearly.
• Communicate effectively with technical advisors and service manager.
• Follow internal procedures, warranty standards, and manufacturer policies.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow health and safety at work standards.
• Use specialized tools safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Skills

• Excellent mechanical versatility (all brands).
• Ability to diagnose quickly and efficiently.
• Rigor, attention to detail, and sense of quality.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of modern electronic systems (asset).
• Good communication with the service and sales team.

Requirements

• DEP in automotive mechanics or equivalent.
• Experience in general mechanics (2 to 5 years).
• Ability to work on multiple brands and technologies.
• Valid driver's license.
