Description
Do you enjoy helping relationships and being close to users? Are you recognized for your leadership and ability to maintain constructive and harmonious interpersonal relationships with the user, their family members, and interdisciplinary team members? The Caregiver supports and assists the user in a set of tasks to compensate for their disabilities in performing daily living activities. The Caregiver can work with youth, adult, or elderly clients in various settings such as a shelter, a hospital unit, a living unit, a rehabilitation unit, or a group home. Specifically, while focusing on stimulating the user's autonomy in their care, the Caregiver ensures their hygiene, well-being, comfort, supervision, and meets their general needs.
The person helps users move and accompanies them outside the establishment if needed. They provide basic care to users and communicate their general health status and behavior to the healthcare team. They may be called upon to install certain devices for which they have received training. They ensure the availability, maintenance, and proper functioning of equipment and materials. They transport materials, samples, and files.
