Are you interested in transportation infrastructure? EXP is looking for a senior engineer or senior civil engineer to join its Transportation team in
Highway Engineering . You will have the opportunity to participate in major multidisciplinary projects that will shape the future of Quebec. No matter where you work, you can work on projects all over Quebec and North America, thanks to cutting-edge computer tools. Your main task will be to participate in all stages of design, mainly in highway engineering (roads and highways), particularly for projects related to the Ministry of Transportation of Quebec and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Corporation. Depending on your interests and skills, you may also be called upon to manage construction oversight.
The position can be located in the Greater Montreal area, Drummondville, Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Sherbrooke, and other locations across Quebec.
Our transportation department represents over 230 people in Quebec whose mission is to help our clients plan, build, renovate, and maintain their road infrastructure. With extensive experience in the fields of expressways, reserved lanes, local roads and streets, urban bus exchange centers, rest areas for motorists and truckers, incentive parking, and freight transfer centers, we offer innovative solutions for every type of roadway and for all users. We design modern facilities to create new mobility links, provide solutions to complex urban interchange problems, and rehabilitate 1960s highways into convivial urban boulevards that promote active and collective mobility. We also ensure that work is carried out to the highest standards. By combining modern technology and innovative design, we offer tailored solutions to make our road networks more efficient and secure, whether through intelligent transportation systems (ITS) or light pollution limiting road lighting.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Establish roadway geometry designs
- Integrate sustainable development concepts into projects
- Design roadway structures and road safety elements
- Perform drainage analyses
- Develop marking and signage concepts (including supersignage)
- Conduct preliminary design studies in highway engineering
- Perform detailed engineering of roadway projects
- Prepare plans and estimates
- Evaluate construction costs
- Provide technical assistance during construction
- Manage roadway construction sites, when necessary
- Coordinate different disciplines
Education and Experience Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- At least ten (10) years of relevant experience, including at least five (5) years working on Ministry of Transportation of Quebec projects
- Knowledge of road design software
- Knowledge of specialized software related to hydrological and hydraulic calculations
- Hold the "ASP Construction" and STC-SUP-1 (STC-102) "Supervision and oversight of road construction site signage" certificates
- Experience in traffic, traffic lights, and traffic management (an asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSProject, and Outlook)
- Good written and oral French skills

- Full-time permanent position (12 months/year)
- 37.5 hours per week, flexible schedule
- Work location: depending on the candidate's interest
