We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in ... Quebec on a daytime schedule from Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM**. Under the supervision of the mechanical director, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic ensures the maintenance, repair, and renewal of various equipment while maintaining regular follow-up with their team lead.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, general, and periodic maintenance of equipment and forklifts;
- Establish a diagnosis when anomalies are reported and determine their causes;
- + Carry out minor and major repairs on vehicles:
- + Engines;
- + Hydraulic systems;
- + Pneumatic systems;
- + Braking and steering devices;
- + Electrical and electronic circuits and transmission components;
- Complete work orders and inspection sheets by recording the tasks performed;
- Ensure proper use and functioning of the company's equipment;
- Inform the immediate supervisor of any unplanned actions required, any detected issues, or any deviations from scheduled times;
- Keep the workplace clean and safe;
- Work safely and in accordance with the company's SST policies and procedures;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Qualifications To join our team
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in heavy equipment mechanics or equivalent training, with skills in electricity, hydraulics, diesel engines, transmissions, and welding.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (mandatory).
- Possession of a complete toolbox (imperial and metric systems).
- Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively solve problems.
- Versatility, diligence, and attention to detail.
- Initiative and autonomy in task management.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanics and new technologies.
Additional Information
- Permanent position
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
- Overtime after 40 hours
