Description

Being a Production Engineer with us means playing a key role in improving productivity, developing new products, and implementing innovative technologies. You will directly contribute to the performance of our manufacturing operations by collaborating with production, quality, health and safety, procurement, and engineering teams.

As a Production Engineer, you will leverage your manufacturing expertise to optimize our processes, lead improvement projects, and participate in the implementation of cutting-edge equipment. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on multi-site projects within Innovair Solutions.

On a daily basis, you will have to

  • Diagnose manufacturing, layout, or work method issues and recommend sustainable improvement solutions;
  • Analyze, optimize, and develop manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and safety;
  • Participate in the acquisition of new equipment and technologies, including feasibility studies, ROI analyses, specifications, and capacity evaluations;
  • Meet and collaborate with different suppliers and equipment manufacturers to identify the best technical solutions for the company;
  • Lead automation, equipment improvement, and production cell layout projects, from initial analysis to commissioning;
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and facilitate Kaizen, SMED, Ishikawa, 6S, and other Lean initiatives;
  • Contribute to the development of new products by defining optimal manufacturing strategies;
  • Optimize the reliability of equipment, tools, and production components;
  • Serve as an expert advisor to production teams on manufacturing processes and performance improvement;
  • Participate in strategic manufacturing projects that may involve multiple production sites of Innovair;
  • Collaborate with international partners, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers on large-scale projects;
  • Promote best practices in occupational health and safety and act as a change agent within the organization;
  • Foster effective communication between different departments;

You are the person we are looking for if you possess

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automated manufacturing engineering, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Significant experience in process improvement, automation, and manufacturing project management;
  • Strong expertise in metal forming, including:
  • + Mechanical press forming (die cutting);
  • + Punching;
  • + Bending;
  • + Profiling (Roll Forming);
  • + Machining and cutting of aluminum extrusions;
  • Excellent knowledge of metal sheet manufacturing processes;
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks software;
  • Good mastery of manufacturing analysis tools (TRG, machine capacity, process variation, ROI, etc.);
  • Knowledge of automation (asset);
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (asset);
  • Membership in the Order of Engineers of Quebec (asset);
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, both orally and in writing, to effectively interact with various stakeholders, including suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and international partners;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • A creative, innovative, and continuous improvement-oriented mindset;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills;
  • A strong sense of autonomy, judgment, and organization;
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
