Your Impact

Reporting to the Manager of the Environment Social Subgroup of the Environmental Impact Study Team, the incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating projects or portions of projects entrusted by clients, ensuring compliance with objectives, schedules, budgets, quality, SSE, regulations, and client requirements;
  • Understanding the promoter's objectives, preparing tailored service proposals, and defining possible solutions to achieve set objectives;
  • Conducting, coordinating, or supervising site intervention analyses, environmental studies, landscape studies, visual simulations, and impact assessments;
  • Conducting landscape integration sectorial studies and evaluating the impact of projects on the visual and landscape components;
  • Assessing project-related issues, risks, and opportunities, proposing mitigation measures, and formulating tailored recommendations;
  • Producing and illustrating landscape design concepts, preparing execution plans and estimates, as well as budgetary estimates;
  • Supervising team members' work, providing advisory roles, establishing and tracking objectives and schedules, and providing feedback at project completion;
  • Supporting the team's expertise development, sharing knowledge, and training members in landscape studies, visual perception, and landscape integration and harmonization;
  • Maintaining good relationships with clients, partners, and business units, and representing the company on various internal and external platforms;
  • Reviewing reports, concepts, plans, estimates, analysis methods, results, and documents before transmitting them to clients;
  • Contributing to the design, development, and communication of guidelines, frameworks, standard estimates, analysis methods, and practices related to the environment and landscape.
  • The projects you will work on cover the following areas:
  • Landscape studies and environmental assessments within the framework of major projects;
  • Environmental Impact Studies - landscape, visual, and human environment components;
  • Landscape analysis, visual perception study, and harmonization of future equipment or infrastructure within the insertion environment;
  • Design and implementation of landscape arrangements within the framework of infrastructure projects;
  • Urban, recreational, and natural landscaping;
  • Master plans, landscape design concepts, plans, and execution estimates;
  • Site supervision and administration, including technical assistance during tender calls and provisional acceptance of work.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, environmental studies, or another relevant field;
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in landscape architecture or similar positions;
  • Excellent knowledge of landscape studies, environmental assessment, impact studies, and mitigation measures;
  • Solid experience in assessing the impact of various types of projects on the landscape;
  • Recognized skills in project management, planning, team coordination, and managing multiple mandates simultaneously;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French, including scientific popularization, particularly for public presentations, client meetings, and stakeholder exchanges;
  • Advanced English, to facilitate collaboration with offices or clients outside Quebec, as needed for projects;
  • Autonomy, versatility, creativity, initiative, and results-oriented approach;
  • Inspiring leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, customer service orientation, and ability to work in a team with openness and kindness;
  • Pronounced interest in environmental and social issues, as well as in finding sustainable and agile solutions;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • The following are assets:
  • Experience in assessing the impact of landscape projects for Hydro-Québec;
  • Versatility of expertise and experience in other areas related to social sciences;
  • Expertise in designing and implementing landscape arrangements, particularly in urban, recreational, natural, and infrastructure domains;
  • Membership in the Association of Landscape Architects of Quebec (AAPQ);
  • Proficiency or knowledge of specialized software for drawing and concept development, as well as cartography.

  • The salary range for this position varies by location:
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK, and YT: $93,700 to $124,200
  • MB and ON: $85,500 to $117,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PE, and QC: $84,700 to $112,400
