We are currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager – Complex Investigations and Construction Monitoring to join our Eastern Canada team, at our offices in Montreal, Quebec or Brossard.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:

• Geoscientific Studies and Interpretations: Participate in the execution of large-scale geological and geotechnical investigations, most often (but not limited to) within the framework of mining projects, dams and reservoirs, transmission lines, and solar and/or wind farms. Participate in construction monitoring assignments of all kinds, primarily (but not limited to) in the energy and transportation markets.
• Technical Development Recommendations: Participate in various tendering processes, in collaboration with other work teams, disciplines, or partners;
• Data Management: Stimulate the financial performance of projects in terms of contribution, including the tracking and management of contract amendments, client account recovery time, variances, and surcharges.
• Project Management: Within the scope of these assignments, lead multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams in collaboration with project directors by actively participating in the complete process of project management (contracts, financial aspects and budget tracking, resource effort management, technical quality verification, communication and client follow-up, etc.);
• Health and Safety: Apply GHD’s management systems for safety, integrity, quality, and environment.
• Research: Respond to information requests regarding research activities to support others or meet the requirements of the role.
• Knowledge Management: Implement policies and processes, collect best practices and case studies, and participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions to gather and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program results and innovative practices in assigned projects.
• Personal Capacity Building: Develop your own skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities, as well as formal and informal training and coaching; obtain or maintain external professional accreditations, if applicable, to improve your performance and realize your personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technologies, external regulations, and industry best practices through continuous training, participation in conferences, and reading specialized media.
• Client Management (External): Actively and regularly interact, both orally and in writing, with internal and external clients.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, or any other relevant discipline;
• Between 9 and 15 years of experience in the civil or geological engineering industry;
• Demonstrated experience in project management and execution;
• Team-oriented, performance-driven, and goal-oriented;
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing;
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written);
• Hold the ASP Construction card;
• Valid driver’s license and own a vehicle;
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
• Experience in personnel management, an asset;
• Experience in alternative delivery projects (e.g., design-build, PPP, IPD, etc.) is an asset;
• Dynamic person and ready to work in a team in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to adapt to constantly evolving requirements and priorities.
