Your responsibilities as a Produce Department Clerk

• Receive and count merchandise destined for sale, such as fruits, vegetables, and any other products sold by your department, ordered by the department manager or assistant manager, and ensure they are correctly placed in the warehouse, refrigerator, or any other assigned storage area;
• Prepare fruits and vegetables, pack, weigh, label, and display them on shelves according to the department's rules for products intended for sale;
• Perform price changes on shelves and, if necessary, on products in your department;
• If necessary, perform merchandise rotation on shelves and keep work areas clean;
• Be responsible for customer service in your department;
• Comply with government food safety standards;
• Wear required safety equipment;
• Clean work areas and keep sales surfaces clean, such as counters, displays, etc.;
• Perform any other tasks as required by your immediate supervisor.
