The Application Development team is seeking a Senior or Principal Generalist Developer to support and evolve KPMG's Collective Action Administration platform and related client applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, supporting, and modernizing existing solutions, and will contribute to the design of a reusable and configurable application framework that can be leveraged across engagements. They will participate in the full software development lifecycle and seek to balance development, production support, cloud technologies, and collaboration with business, architecture, security, and service delivery teams.
What You Will Do
- Application Development and Modernization
- Design, develop, test, and update enterprise web applications using modern Microsoft technologies
- Create front-end applications using React, Vite, TypeScript, and related technologies
- Develop scalable APIs, services, and back-end components using C#, ASP.NET, and modern .NET technologies
- Create reusable application components, shared modules, and configurable functions to support multiple collective action engagements
- Translate business needs into scalable and modifiable technical solutions
- Contribute to application architecture, modernization initiatives, and the evolution of a reusable application framework for collective actions
- Promote development standards, reusable patterns, and modifiable design practices
- Application Support and Operations
- Serve as the primary technical resource for support of the Collective Action Administration applications
- Provide support in production and non-production environments to ensure application stability and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with applications, operational incidents, and production defects
- Analyze root causes of problems and implement corrective measures
- Participate in version management, deployment activities, upgrades, and technical debt reduction efforts
- Security and Governance
- Apply secure practices throughout the software development lifecycle
- Collaborate with security and DevSecOps teams to address vulnerabilities and security issues
- Support requirements for application hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance
- Ensure solutions comply with development standards, security controls, and KPMG's governance processes
- Collaboration and Service Delivery
- Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, developers, support teams, and service delivery managers
- Participate in planning, estimation, technical review, and Agile service delivery activities
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support application delivery in accordance with established operational and software development lifecycle processes
What You Bring to the Role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- At least five years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise web applications
- Strong experience in general development with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET, and REST APIs
- Experience in creating responsive and accessible public web applications (compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and implementing Google reCAPTCHA or similar bot protection technologies
- Experience with SQL Server/Azure SQL, Azure functions, and enterprise service integration
- Experience in developing and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure, including cloud-hosted solutions and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or GitHub
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and secure software development practices
- Experience in production application support, complex troubleshooting, and application modernization initiatives
- Knowledge of clean architecture and building reusable components
- Experience in managing legacy applications using technologies such as .NET MVC, Bootstrap, jQuery, and Next.js
- Experience in Agile environments and strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
This position requires proficiency in both written and spoken English. The successful candidate will need to support colleagues or stakeholders from other provinces, or collaborate with them.
Salary Range – Ontario
The base salary range for this position is $106,600 to $156,600, with potential for additional bonuses. A candidate's or candidate's compensation is determined based on their location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to compensation, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits program.
