  • Purpose of the Accounts Payable Technician

Under the supervision of the controller, the incumbent will, while ensuring the interests and profitability of the company, manage the accounts payable in an optimal way and produce accurate financial information for all companies and divisions of the VA group. We are looking for a person who thrives on challenges!

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Technician

  • Ensure the responsibility of accounts payable;

Assist and participate in the improvement of accounting and operational processes to improve the production time of financial statements (work methodology optimizing the efficiency of the steps);

Ensure the supervision and effective management of invoice entries into the system (standard invoices, claims, agencies, mechanical workshop, fuel, expense accounts and credit card);

Make payments by check, bank transfers, pre-authorized payments, according to the schedules established by the company according to our Cash-Flow situation;

Perform systematic approval analyses;

Record contracts and permanent supplier files in imaging;

Reconcile the accounts payable auxiliary monthly;

Analyze the detailed auxiliary for justification of balances;

Process credits carried to the supplier accounts;

Prepare tables using Excel (pivot tables);

Roll reports and extract data from the system;

Participate in the daily and forecasted management of the company's treasury;

Participate in month-end closings;

Respond to the various needs of suppliers and divisions;

Manage the reports required by the management within the established deadlines;

Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements of the Accounts Payable Technician

  • DEP in accounting;
  • Relevant experience of 2 years with accounts payable;
  • Bilingual, French and English, oral and written;
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel software;
  • Facility to use computer tools;
  • Knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Dynamics GP, an asset;
  • Ability to manage time and priorities;
  • Quick adaptation in an evolving environment;
  • Good teamwork capacity;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a good volume of work
  • Employment type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: Starting at $48,000 per year
