Contract Type: Permanent A career as a principal financial planning advisor at Financière Banque Nationale (FBN) means supporting FBN's client service and financial advisors in their financial planning needs by providing information and preparing comprehensive financial plans.

The mission of the department is to offer high-quality expertise and services in advanced financial planning, taxation, and succession.

Your Role

  • Become a reference in financial planning within the client advisory team of one of Canada's leading asset management firms
  • Conduct client interviews, build trust, and create tailored financial plans for high-net-worth clients
  • Be a team player, maintaining relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage complex cases with tight deadlines in a constantly evolving environment
  • Prepare and deliver financial planning training sessions to financial advisors
  • Identify and develop business opportunities for all services and products offered by Financière Banque Nationale
  • Understand business challenges and participate in developing practical solutions
  • Your Team:

Attached to the Montreal offices, you collaborate with your colleagues (financial planners, successors, and tax specialists) to support FBN's financial advisors and clients in financial planning (7 areas of intervention).

Requirements

  • Designation from the Quebec Institute of Financial Planning
  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • University degree in a relevant field (accounting, actuarial science, finance, economics, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning concepts, including personal, corporate taxation, and pension regimes
  • Significant experience in an expert advisory role
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with various professionals (financial advisors, internal and external tax specialists, successor planners, etc.)
  • Skills to effectively communicate complex concepts
  • Availability for travel to FBN offices in the Greater Montreal Area

Assets

  • Experience or mastery in taxation (or CICA Indepth tax course)
  • Knowledge of insurance strategies
  • Knowledge of the wealth management domain
  • Membership in Financial Planner Canada
