- The planner supports project teams in the development, updating, and tracking of the schedule using specialized planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and in compliance with contract requirements and industry standards;
- Participate directly in the development of complex project schedules;
- Responsible for planning from the submission of work through design and procurement to project delivery;
- Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders involved in project delivery with close collaboration with the project team;
- Make the use of schedules easier and more structured on projects (through the development and training of a project management culture including the use of schedules on all projects;
- Integrate all required information for detailed tracking of each step of the project;
- On a weekly or as-needed basis, generate progress reports and performance indicators (SPI, CPI);
- Produce cash flow curves and responsible for the implementation of earned value management on P6;
- Track base planning (reference schedule) versus actual activities;
- Write the "planning" section of the monthly project progress report;
- Ensure the dissemination of information (schedule evolution, critical path, time shift, data analysis, and impact on delivery);
- Master planning software combined with close communication with operations at all stages of the project (submissions, execution, and daily activity claims on the site, allowing optimization and improvement of value in business processes;
- Identify the critical path;
- Ensure the establishment of project schedules and provide them to the concerned teams;
- Ensure coordination of activities with other team members;
- Ensure the application of good project management practices;
- Attend planning-related meetings;
- Attend, if necessary, site meetings;
Requirements
- Holder of an engineering degree or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience;
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a planner in construction;
- Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 software (essential) and MS Project (optional), including the use of WBS and other coding systems;
- Knowledge of linear scheduling (TILOS), schedule quality audit (DCMA-14), and 4D software (Synchro 4D/Navisworks) (an asset);
- Bilingual: French, functional English;
- Certification in planning (an asset) (PMI-SP, AACE-PSP);
- Risk management training (an asset).
