Full-time permanent position – Lachute, Quebec

We are seeking an experienced industrial refrigeration technician to join our full-time team and ensure the operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC-R systems in a modern indoor production facility located in Lachute, Quebec.

Responsibilities

• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning, and dehumidification systems
• Quickly diagnose mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and control-related issues
• Maintain and repair compressors, heat pumps, air handling units, coils, pumps, motors, and other HVAC-R equipment
• Perform necessary checks and work on refrigeration circuits
• Diagnose issues related to controls, probes, thermostats, VFD, and automated systems
• Maintain precise temperature and humidity conditions in production rooms
• Implement and maintain a rigorous preventive maintenance program
• Identify potential issues before they cause downtime or production stoppages
• Work with suppliers and specialized contractors when necessary
• Document maintenance, repairs, and interventions performed
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the reliability and energy efficiency of the facilities

Qualifications

• Qualified refrigeration technician – SF-1 (Refrigeration System, Class 1) or equivalent appropriate qualification
• Hold a valid CCQ refrigeration master technician card, a Red Seal certification, or any other recognized qualification in commercial or industrial refrigeration.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in commercial or industrial refrigeration/HVAC
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of HVAC electrical and control systems
• Experience with dehumidification systems is strongly desired
• Experience with VFD, BAS, PLC/automates, or digital controls is considered an important asset
• Ability to read electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical schematics
• Autonomy and ability to manage priorities
• Experience in a controlled environment production facility, pharmaceutical, food, horticultural, or cannabis is an asset
• Terms

Target salary: $40 to $50/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
