Assistant Controller

Groupe VIF Inc. is a well-established Quebec-based manufacturing company with 150 employees. We specialize in the manufacturing of plastic parts by injection, thermoforming, and blow molding extrusion, used primarily in the design of pool products and recreational vehicles.

Your role at Groupe VIF

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Controller plays a key role in the quality, rigor, and relevance of the financial information provided to the management. You will be at the heart of the company's financial operations, contributing to both recurring activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position represents an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in a concrete manufacturing environment, where finance acts as a partner to operations and production.

Main responsibilities

• Actively participate in month-end closing processes, including end-of-month entries
• Perform and review various account reconciliations (balance sheet, intercompany, inventory, etc.)
• Analyze budgetary and operational variances, particularly related to production costs, labor, general expenses, and margins
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and management tools for the management
• Contribute to the maintenance and strengthening of internal controls
• Participate in the preparation of the annual audit and other audit assignments, as needed
• Apply and ensure a rigorous understanding of the complete accounting cycle
• Collaborate closely with the operations and production teams to support financial analysis
• Use the ERP system to extract, validate, and analyze financial data
• Participate in the development of dashboards and decision-support tools
• Desired profile and qualifications

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration (accounting option)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial analysis
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (strongly desired)

Technical skills

• Excellent mastery of the complete accounting cycle
• Solid understanding of internal controls
• Proficiency in analyzing financial and operational reports
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft suite
• Experience with an ERP system
• Knowledge of Power BI (an asset)

Language skills

• Bilingual French/English, both spoken and written
