Welder / Mechanical Assistant

We are looking for a versatile welder / mechanical assistant to join our production and maintenance team.

The person we are looking for will primarily participate in the manufacture, assembly, and repair of components used on our equipment and production lines. They will also support the maintenance department in performing certain mechanical tasks on an as-needed basis.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform welding (MIG and stick), fabrication, and repair work on components made of Hardox, steel, and other metals;
• Perform hard-facing (hardfacing) work on parts subjected to high wear;
• Assemble, manufacture, and modify internal equipment and projects based on technical drawings and plans;
• Prepare, measure, adjust, and position pieces before welding, then verify the quality of the completed assemblies;
• Perform repair, maintenance, and modification work on equipment and production lines;
• Support the maintenance team in mechanical tasks, including disassembly, installation, adjustment, and replacement of components;
• Participate in the maintenance and adjustment of *shear* type equipment;
• Collaborate with mechanics and production teams during team-based interventions;
• Always respect health and safety at work norms and procedures.

Desired Profile

• Experience in MIG and stick welding.
• Experience with steel, Hardox, and hard-facing.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use measuring, cutting, grinding, and assembly tools.
• Autonomy, resourcefulness, and a commitment to quality work.
• Ability to work alone or in a team.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in an industrial environment.
• Availability to occasionally perform varied tasks according to the needs of production and maintenance.

Work Schedule

• Full-time permanent position.
• Evening shift: Monday to Thursday, 12:00 PM to 10:15 PM.
• Evening shift premium.
• Possibility of overtime hours according to operational needs.
