Description

To support our growth, we are looking for a Financial Controller who will play a key role within our team. We are seeking someone who enjoys analyzing numbers as much as participating in daily financial operations. You will be a true business partner, capable of transforming financial data into concrete recommendations to support decision-making. We are currently collaborating with an external accounting firm that handles certain accounting and tax responsibilities.

Financial Analysis and Management Support

  • Analyze the company's financial performance.
  • Produce management reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze revenues, expenses, profit margins, and profitability.
  • Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Perform cash flow analysis and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Present financial results to the management.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor them.

Accounting and Financial Administration

  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Supervise the complete billing cycle.
  • Monitor customer and vendor accounts.
  • Process government remittances (GST, QST, DAS, and other government obligations).
  • Participate in monthly and annual closings.
  • Prepare files for the external accounting firm.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of financial statements.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of accounting and administrative processes.

Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and the external accounting firm.
  • Participate in various process improvement projects.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the financial function to support company growth.

Desired Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (a significant asset).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in SMEs strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of general accounting and financial analysis.
  • Very good understanding of government obligations and accounting best practices.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Analytical mindset, autonomy, and diligence.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly.
  • Strong sense of organization and ability to work independently.
  • Salary: $80,000 to $115,000 per year
