Financial Controller

To support our growth, we are looking for a Financial Controller who will play a key role within our team. We are seeking someone who enjoys analyzing numbers as much as participating in daily financial operations. You will be a true business partner, capable of transforming financial data into concrete recommendations to support decision-making. We are currently collaborating with an external accounting firm that handles certain accounting and tax responsibilities.
Financial Analysis and Management Support
- Analyze the company's financial performance.
- Produce management reports and dashboards.
- Analyze revenues, expenses, profit margins, and profitability.
- Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Perform cash flow analysis and recommend optimization strategies.
- Present financial results to the management.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor them.
Accounting and Financial Administration
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Supervise the complete billing cycle.
- Monitor customer and vendor accounts.
- Process government remittances (GST, QST, DAS, and other government obligations).
- Participate in monthly and annual closings.
- Prepare files for the external accounting firm.
- Collaborate on the preparation of financial statements.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of accounting and administrative processes.
Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and the external accounting firm.
- Participate in various process improvement projects.
- Contribute to the evolution of the financial function to support company growth.
Desired Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (a significant asset).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in SMEs strongly preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of general accounting and financial analysis.
- Very good understanding of government obligations and accounting best practices.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, and diligence.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly.
- Strong sense of organization and ability to work independently.
- Salary: $80,000 to $115,000 per year
