We are looking for a Payroll Technician who is meticulous and organized to manage all activities related to payroll processing. Under the supervision of the Director, Talent and Culture, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while responding to employee and manager requests. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of processes to ensure an effective and reliable service.
YOUR ROLE IS CRUCIAL
Payroll Management
- Monitor employee files related to payroll;
- Act as a resource person regarding the complete payroll process for approximately 500 employees;
- Monitor specific job requirements for certain positions (work permits, driver's licenses, etc.);
- Verify payroll compliance and ensure adherence to standards, laws, and internal policies;
- Administer special cases (bonuses, commissions, maternity leave, vacations, and special deductions);
- Manage the end-of-year process;
- Perform and verify T4 and R1 statements, present summaries to the respective governments, and perform reconciliations;
- Maintain and report on payroll GL accounts and benefits;
- Generate and analyze all audit reports;
- Prepare various accounting entries and account reconciliations related to payroll;
- Produce various payroll-related reports and respond to employee inquiries about payroll questions;
- Validate DAS with the government.
- Project Management in Collaboration with the Talent and Culture Team
- Optimize the UKG payroll system with the help of the Talent and Culture team and HR;
- Train and improve on-site teams;
- Improve and implement payroll processes;
- Handle administrative management of CNESST files;
- Perform any other related tasks as requested.
Employee Benefits
- Answer questions regarding the group's collective insurance program, REER, and RPDB;
- Validate employee eligibility and follow up with managers and employees to obtain necessary documents for enrollment;
- Enroll employees in insurance and make modifications;
- Verify the accuracy of the invoice and properly reconcile.

WE NEED YOU IF
- You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years in payroll and benefits administration;
- You hold a certificate in human resources, accounting, administration, or equivalent;
- You have good knowledge of the laws governing payroll and employee benefits in Quebec and Canada;
- You have good knowledge of the UKG payroll system;
- You have excellent proficiency in Excel and payroll with a time clock system;
- You are bilingual in French and English for effective communication with an international clientele;
- You maintain exemplary service standards at all times and have the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment;
- You are passionate, friendly, and professional, with a positive attitude and contagious enthusiasm;
- You embody a culture focused on excellence, attention to detail, accountability, and collaboration;
- You are disciplined and process-oriented, capable of working calmly in all situations;
