Make your mark within the Taxation group as a Taxation Technician. This diverse team of professionals develops customized tax strategies in a complex and dynamic regulatory environment. As a trusted advisor, you will develop solutions to help our clients comply with tax and financial information requirements, mitigate risks, gain efficiency, and maximize their return.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the completion of tax mandates.
• Prepare files for new clients and newly incorporated companies.
• Review legal documents.
• Identify issues and errors, find the reason for discrepancies, consult with the director or partner responsible for the mission, and develop solutions.
• Communicate with clients and various government agencies to resolve tax compliance issues.
• Participate in the preparation of correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining the findings, facts, and key points related to the mandate.
• Collaborate with the mandate team.
• Be willing to travel, if necessary.

Skills and Experience

• Diploma or post-secondary certificate in accounting, taxation, or a related field
• Experience in accounting, customer service, or a customer service environment, an asset
• Experience in financial statement analysis and income tax return preparation, an asset
• Practical knowledge of the Income Tax Act of Canada
• Experience with accounting and tax software, an asset
