What will you contribute to the team?
- Prepare visa/work permit and permanent residency applications for Canada and the United States;
- Prepare translations, affidavits, and other legal documents;
- Prepare various correspondence with governments to respond to inspections and audits;
- Prepare entry letters for business travelers and assist them with their business visa and registration procedures when required;
- Coordinate certification, notarization, and legalization of required documents with embassies, consulates, law societies, and notary chambers;
- Conduct legal research in the field of immigration law, employment law, and related matters and prepare PowerPoint presentations;
- Assist in the preparation of legal opinions;
- Assist in the management of various government portals (IRCC Employer Portal, MIFI, etc.);
- Assist in the management of updating the database containing all information related to the expiration dates of visas/work permits;
- Enter data and import documents into the database managing files, documents, and data from Legal Services, Human Resources, and International Mobility and prepare Excel reports;
- Participate in corporate governance activities such as tracking changes in immigration laws and regulations that may impact Bombardier; and
- Assist in coordinating legal services in immigration services with external firms.
How will you thrive in this role?
- You hold a law degree from a Canadian or American university or a college diploma in legal techniques or equivalent (being a member of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants is an asset);
- You have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in a large private company or law firm;
- You are fluent in both French and English, both orally and in writing (knowledge of other languages is an asset);
- You have intercultural skills and international experience;
- You have a good sense of organization and strong document and file management skills;
- You have advanced computer skills;
- You can easily write letters and review documents;
- You are customer-oriented;
- You can work on multiple files simultaneously;
- You demonstrate a high level of initiative and are autonomous while fostering a collaborative spirit;
- You have a keen eye for detail;
- You have a desire to learn new things;
- You are flexible.
