Production Manager

Full Job Description

Since 1978, Univerco has distinguished itself in the design and manufacture of technological agricultural machinery. Univerco is present on the Canadian, American, and Mexican markets and is opening doors to European and Australian markets.

To enable the next step in growth, we are looking for an experienced production manager to oversee daily operations in our Napierville manufacturing plant. Reporting to the CEO, the production manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, maintaining high quality standards, and leading the team to achieve production goals on schedule.

The production manager will work closely with engineering, procurement, production, and sales teams. They will play a key role in achieving production, quality, health and safety, human resources management, and continuous improvement goals. Their role includes:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all production activities to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Establish production priorities based on orders, manufacturing capacity, and representative needs.
• Create and maintain a production schedule.
• Supervise and manage a team distributed across several departments, including welding, painting, electrical, assembly, and coordination and tracking of subcontractors.
• Monitor workflow and production progress to ensure schedule adherence.
• Ensure departments collaborate effectively to achieve production goals and meet deadlines.
• Provide daily tasks and performance goals to department supervisors, while supporting and mentoring them.
• Actively participate in continuous process improvement to increase productivity, quality, and profitability.
• Identify and correct production bottlenecks and inefficiencies to keep production on track.
• Ensure product compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.
• Ensure proper functioning of facilities to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve production goals.
• Participate in evaluating equipment and infrastructure improvement investment needs.
• Participate in recruiting, integrating, training, and developing employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations and follow development plans.
• Collaborate with senior management to determine production methods aligned with design, technical, and engineering requirements.
• Rapidly intervene in health and safety issues and implement necessary corrective measures.

SKILLS

• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Capacity to solve problems and think analytically, with a strong ability to direct, motivate, and empower teams, while demonstrating strategic thinking and adaptability.
• Knowledge or rapid learning of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read technical drawings and production plans.
• Knowledge of a scheduling software like MS Project.

QUALIFICATIONS

• DEC/AEC in industrial engineering, production management, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in production management in a manufacturing environment.

• Salary: $80,000 to $110,000 per year
