Your Role
To succeed in this role, the selected person will participate in the following activities:
- Design, test, commission, analyze maintenance, and operation of railway rolling stock.
- Participate in the design of railway systems to meet the operational capacity, functionality, and performance requirements of projects, with particular attention to rolling stock.
- Collaborate with various teams (system design, track, railway control/RCS, and requirements management) within the Automation Systems Division to specify and deliver various rolling stock communication systems integrated into public transit, urban rail, and freight rail solutions.
- Contribute, as needed, to the development of proposals and service offers.
- Support several project management, proposal writing, technical specification writing, and quality assurance projects.
- Participate in coordination with design groups (communications, fixed infrastructure, etc.) and external stakeholders (architects, regulatory consultants, major suppliers, etc.).
- Participate in the production of design, construction, and interface control documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, and operational activities for signaling and control systems for public transit, urban rail, and heavy freight networks.
Your Profile
- University degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in the railway and public transit industry, with a specialization in rolling stock or system design.
- Knowledge of the design and selection of various elements of a project's communication systems.
- Knowledge of the development of technical requirements and specifications in a project environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation 3D.
- Ability to work in varied and evolving environments, including design offices, project offices, and on-site.
- Availability to travel to project sites.
- Availability to travel to suppliers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to actively participate in work meetings and discussions with team members, partners, and suppliers.
- Strong autonomy, initiative, and ability to work with limited supervision.
- *The following qualifications will be an asset, although not mandatory:*
- Combined engineering and administration training (e.g., engineering and management degree, administration minor, MBA, BBA, or equivalent).
- Project management skills and PMP certification.
- Experience or knowledge demonstrated in transportation planning, railway engineering, transportation engineering, or communication systems.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and Access.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Strong academic record in relevant fields.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
