Construction Project Manager – Habitat Construction
Are you eager to play a strategic role for a growing company? Are you passionate about construction, innovation, and problem-solving? Do you have a dynamic and entrepreneurial personality? Habitat is currently looking for a Construction Project Manager.
What you will do
Reporting to the director, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing construction projects from start to final acceptance. They will serve as an effective intermediary between various stakeholders (clients, professionals, subcontractors, etc.). They will be invited to collaborate in the bidding process and analyze RFPs.
More specifically, the Project Manager will:
- Plan construction activities to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to schedules.
- Perform budget tracking and ensure cost control.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Supervise work teams, including foremen, to ensure quality and compliance.
- Manage administrative project follow-up, including documentation and change management.
- Coordinate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
- Place orders for necessary materials to support project execution.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage unforeseen events and find effective solutions to minimize operational impacts.
Your experience and skills include
- DEC in Building Engineering, Estimating, or any other relevant training;
- Primarily worked in the commercial/institutional sector;
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role;
- Ability to mobilize a work team and facilitate collaboration;
- Professional attitudes and behaviors (autonomy, integrity, and trust);
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, and leadership;
- Customer-oriented mindset;
- Ability to work within short deadlines;
- Knowledge of management principles and relevant IT systems (Office Suite, Microsoft Project, AutoCad is a plus, etc.);
- Strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Excellent written and spoken French, and knowledge of English is considered an asset; *The requirement for English language proficiency is to better serve our anglophone clientele.*
- May need to travel to Matane.

- Employment conditions:
Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
Salary based on experience and skills.
Work location: Matane, Hybrid remote work possible with occasional travel to the Quebec headquarters or Matane when necessary, weekly travel to ongoing construction sites.
