Urban Planning Technician - Full-Time Replacement Position (Indefinite Duration)

URBAN PLANNING TECHNICIAN FULL-TIME REPLACEMENT POSITION (INDEFINITE DURATION)

The Municipality of Rawdon is seeking a versatile and rigorous individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment to support its Urban Planning and Environment Service.

Your Challenge

Under the authority of the Director of the Urban Planning and Environment Service, the incumbent will perform various technical and office and field tasks related to territorial planning and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and route requests of all kinds, using the various technical means at their disposal;
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding municipal regulations such as zoning, subdivision, construction, nuisances, etc., and refer to the responsible organizations;
• Perform various tasks related to building inspections on the territory, when required in the exercise of their functions, for the application of regulations;
• Analyze, issue, and follow up on permits and authorization certificates after studying and verifying the requests;
• Analyze the various documents required following the issuance of permits and authorization certificates;
• Prepare files to be presented to the advisory committee on urban planning;
• Execute requests for access to information;
• Conduct routine technical inspections of buildings and land. Write up reports and/or reports and submit them to their superior, when required;
• Ensure compliance with the various applicable provincial regulations;
• Prepare infraction files and issue infraction notices (writing, documents, photographs, etc.);
• Testify in court for infraction notices under urban planning or environmental regulations, or for any other action taken by the Municipality or other government agencies;
• Replace and/or support the customer service representative of the Urban Planning and Environment Service when required

REQUIREMENTS

• D.E.C. in Territorial Planning Techniques combined with more than two (2) years of relevant experience or any combination of relevant education and experience;
• Good knowledge of applicable legislation in urban planning in Quebec;
• Experience in the municipal environment, constitutes
• Good mastery of Microsoft Office software as well as the Accès-Cité Territoire software, constitutes
• Have a good mastery of French;
• Valid Class 5 driver's license;
• Excellent customer service sense;
• Good analytical and synthesis spirit;
• Highly developed initiative and autonomy;
• Rigor, meticulousness, and discretion.

WORK CONDITIONS

• Salary of $29.37/hour (according to the collective agreement in force)
• Regular schedule of 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and occasionally on Saturday
• Summer schedule
• Full-time replacement position (indefinite duration)
