As part of our growth, we are looking for a Project Scheduler to participate in the realization of an important camp construction project.
About the Position
This position is ideal for a professional looking to contribute to a major project while enjoying an excellent work-life balance.
You will be called upon to work on an important construction project near Baie-Comeau according to a Fly-in/Fly-out schedule from Monday to Friday. Travel is planned Monday to the site and Friday for the return home, allowing you to enjoy all your weekends at home.
Transportation, accommodation, and meals are fully covered by IMEC.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules using Microsoft Project. They will work closely with the construction teams, contractors, and the client to ensure schedule adherence.
In addition to scheduling, you will conduct regular site visits to validate the actual progress of the work, compare progress with the baseline schedule, analyze variances, and participate in the development of corrective action plans when required.
The expected duration of the assignment is approximately 10 months, with a possibility of permanence depending on the company's needs and the candidate's performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize schedules in Microsoft Project.
- Prepare and structure the project's WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
- Ensure the progress of the work by regularly validating progress on the site.
- Conduct site visits to confirm the physical progress of the work.
- Update schedules based on actual progress and approved changes.
- Compare actual progress with the baseline schedule.
- Identify variances, analyze their impacts, and recommend corrective measures.
- Prepare progress reports and performance indicators.
- Participate in coordination meetings with the client, contractors, and project teams.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project scheduling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and daily use of the tool.
- Excellent knowledge of the development and management of a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
- Experience in schedule tracking and control.
- Comfortable working on-site and interacting daily with construction teams.
- Strong autonomy, diligence, and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Assets
- Experience in the construction sector.
- Experience on industrial, energy, mining, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of project control principles.
