General Information

The Centre de gestion de l'équipement roulant (CGER) is a general direction that falls under the sub-ministry for support to operations and civil security (SMSESC) of the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility (the Ministry). The organization's mission is to provide public organizations in Quebec with complete fleet management services, according to the best business practices, with a perspective of resource optimization and sustainable development. The CGER's clientele includes ministries, cities and municipalities, public organizations, the health and social services network, the education network, and the federal government.

The CGER relies on the collaboration of approximately 400 employees to fulfill its mission and has a network of 57 mechanics workshops spread across the entire Quebec territory. It manages a fleet of over 10,000 vehicles and related equipment.

Under the supervision of the dispatcher:

• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems;
• Maintain and repair the main components of various machines;
• Perform setup and calibration of equipment;
• Conduct inspection work and detect defects.

• Annual Salary:
• $27.85 per hour

The Candidate Must Meet the Job Requirements

• Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) with specialization in heavy-duty vehicle mechanics, construction equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics or in another relevant specialization, or hold a certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority;
• A person may submit their application if they are in the process of completing the final year of studies required to obtain the required diploma.

OR

• Have 4 years of relevant experience as a garage and mechanics workshop assistant or in an equivalent position.
• Additionally, the candidate must:
• Possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority to work in the Quebec public service;
• Have appropriate French language skills for the position.
• These positions are to be filled in the following city: Sept-Îles
