Desired internship duration in weeks: 15 weeks.

The Ministerial Performance Directorate (MPD) is a small dynamic team composed of people passionate about results-oriented management and performance. Attached to the General Directorate of Organizational Governance and Performance, the MPD plays a strategic role in supporting decision-making, accountability, and performance management within the ministry.
The MPD is responsible for implementing the requirements of the Public Administration Act, which establishes a results-oriented and transparent framework for managing government administration. It:
- Coordinates ministerial activities related to the results-oriented management and performance cycle, in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Treasury Board Secretariat;
- Designs and monitors numerous strategic files: strategic plan, ministerial action plan, services declaration to citizens, annual management report, public administration performance index, etc.
Description of the mandate and tasks to be entrusted to the intern
Under the supervision of the Ministerial Performance Director and in close collaboration with the Ministerial Performance Strategic Advisor, the intern will contribute to the advanced stages of developing the Ministry's Strategic Plan 2027-2031. In this capacity, they will be called upon to:
- Contribute to the definition and documentation of the objectives, performance indicators, and targets of the Strategic Plan, including by conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, examining historical data, comparing with other public administrations, and evaluating the availability and quality of data;
- Participate in the analysis of the evolution of the strategic and government context, including public commitments, government orientations, and changes that may influence the Ministry's priorities, and propose the required adjustments to the strategic plan project;
- Support the writing, revision, and alignment of the various components of the Strategic Plan, including texts presenting the context, issues, orientations, objectives, indicators, and targets;
- Contribute to the validation processes with administrative units, ministerial authorities, and concerned partners, including by preparing consultation documents, analyzing and synthesizing the received comments, and following up on the adjustments made;
- Participate in the preparation of deliverables for governance and decision-making instances, such as analysis notes, information sheets, summary tables, presentations, progress reports, and decision support tools;
- Support the finalization and formatting of the Strategic Plan as well as the preparation of the documents necessary for its administrative processing, approval, and dissemination.
The intern may also be called upon to contribute to other strategic planning projects, including the revision of the mission and vision statements and organizational values.

- Prerequisites
This internship is for a student enrolled in a university-level second-cycle program in social sciences (public affairs, economics, management, political science, sociology) or in the administration sciences.
To be eligible for an internship in the public service, a person must:
- be legally authorized to work in Canada;
- be enrolled in a program of study recognized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education in Quebec, or by the competent authority where the studies are conducted;
- be domiciled in Quebec.
In addition, the internship must be subject to an evaluation or internship report, and its duration must not exceed that planned within the framework of the study program.

Internship required by a professional order
The internship must:
- be one of the conditions for becoming a member of your professional order;
- comply with the duration set by your professional order.
