What awaits you on a daily basis
- Contribute to the development of strategies and tracking mechanisms in the field of geospatial information governance by conducting analyses or studies for the purpose of information, planning, monitoring, evaluation and decision-making in management.
- Contribute to the development of strategies and tracking mechanisms in the field of partnerships by participating in prospecting, attracting and retaining partners, staying aware of the reality and needs of existing and potential partners and participating in networking events, in order to promote the service offerings of the Department.
- Participate in the promotion of the Governmental Geospatial Information Expertise Center by actively contributing to the deployment of certain initiatives, notably the one on the recruitment of geomatics workforce, in order to collaborate on their implementation and the achievement of the Action Plan of the Center.
- Acquire and share knowledge about the geospatial information business sector, its issues and opportunities, by conducting information research from various sources, in order to establish the best practices to adopt.
- Support the director and coordinators in governance and partnership development in their operational and strategic activities by participating in meetings, conducting analytical work, documenting and integrating results, in order to advise them on the evolution of ministerial orientations and policies and to assist them in the interpretation of results.
- Compensation
We offer you a minimum hourly rate of 27.19 $. A 6.5% surcharge is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits.
Schedule
In addition to working during the day, Monday to Friday, you could enjoy adapted schedules, favoring the conciliation between your work, your studies and your personal life :
- *Regular schedule of 14 hours/week during study sessions;
- *Schedule of 21 hours/week during reading weeks;
- *Schedule of 35 hours/week during the summer period and the Christmas break.*
Hybrid remote work is possible, depending on organizational benchmarks.
Desired profile and application procedures
This is the profile we are looking for
To occupy a student job in the public service, you must be enrolled full-time in a first cycle university studies program (or part-time if you are in the penultimate or final session of your studies program) in one of the following fields :
- BACC in geography
- BACC in territorial planning
- BACC in urban planning
- BACC in geomatics
- BACC in political science
- Or in a relevant field
- More specifically, we are looking for a motivated student who is eager to learn and who :
- Has a great capacity for analysis and concentration.
- Demonstrates openness, respect, flexibility and transparency, while being open to divergent points of view.
- Adapts easily to uncertainty and reacts constructively to changes, whether planned or unplanned.
- Communicates effectively and expresses oneself clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation in the search for solutions.
- Additionally, this person will need to :
- Have an appropriate knowledge of French for the duties of the position.
- Be legally authorized or authorized to work in Canada.
