To offer relevant solutions that have a tangible impact on Canada's international trade, the FPI Product Portfolio Management function ensures the strategic management of all EDC's financial products and includes three (3) key services: Product Strategy Support, Product Development, and Product Lifecycle Management. These services require a balanced blend of strategic thinking, a holistic view, an understanding of customer needs, and interfunctional collaboration.

  • Develop prospective analyses, options, recommendations, and decision support materials to support priority establishment, investment choices, and strategic product and initiative orientation.
  • Communicate market trends, strategic insights, and product adoption signals to guide roadmap priorities and foster a common understanding of product strategy impacts.

  • Design and implement new or enhanced financial products by evaluating customer needs, user experience (UX), pricing, risk profile, financial impacts, operational integration, and readiness requirements.
  • Coordinate and track pilot projects, launch preparation, and market launch activities, including objectives, activities, success metrics, dependencies, and adoption considerations.
  • Manage design processes and ensure appropriate consideration of approvals, risk assessments, and applicable governance requirements for products.
  • Risk, Governance, and Decision Support
  • Integrate EDC's risk management frameworks, policies, guidelines, and governance expectations into product design, development, tracking, and lifecycle decisions.
