Senior Cloud Architect | Professional Services

DESCRIPTION

The Professional Services (ProServe) team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) to join our team. PCA's collaborate closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and business objectives, designing and implementing tailored cloud solutions. You'll play a key role in the sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer's cloud journey.

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and leading the development of solutions to achieve customer business outcomes (CBO). Acting as the bridge between ProServe Account Executives and our Delivery Teams, you'll ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable, while optimizing ProServe and/or our partners to maximize these outcomes. As a PCA, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, guiding them on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to address their challenges. As a technical expert (SME), you'll share your knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, the creation of reusable resources, and process improvements.

Your experience in designing technical solutions within the technology/consulting sector will enable you to architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer, translating technical concepts into business value. Your success as a PCA will be measured by your contribution to the signing of Statements of Work (SOWs) and the successful implementation of solutions that achieve CBOs while exceeding customer satisfaction (CSAT) expectations.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their business goals through the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our team provides support through a range of offerings designed to help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption. We also deliver targeted guidance through our global specialty practices, covering a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.

Key job responsibilities

• Designing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions, estimates, and proposals to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs)
• Providing technical guidance and best practices during the sales and implementation phases
• Collaborating with Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable
• Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
• Sharing knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of technical specialist, design, and architecture experience
• 7+ years of consulting, design, and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience
• 7+ years of external or internal customer-facing, complex, and large-scale project management experience
• 3+ years of cloud-based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network, and operating system experience
• Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience
• Only for Quebec location: fluency in French and English is required due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• AWS Professional level certification
• Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
• Experience in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments
