Admissions and Judicial Officer

Granby's L'Envolée Centre is looking for a person who is human, organized, and comfortable with interpersonal relationships to join its admissions team.

Under the authority of the admissions director, the person holding the position will participate in the evaluation and support of judiciarized individuals wishing to join the Centre's services.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of incarcerated individuals wishing to join the Centre's services;
• Perform certain admission evaluations;
• Ensure follow-ups with prison authorities and various judicial intervenants;
• Communicate with lawyers, Crown prosecutors, and other concerned partners;
• Assist housed individuals during their court appearances via videoconference;
• Participate in information collection and document preparation that can be used in the context of court reports;
• Keep files up-to-date and document the steps taken;
• Collaborate with the admissions director and other team members;
• Perform any other tasks related to admissions and the judicial aspect.
• Required Qualifications
• Hold a college or university degree in one of the following fields:
• Criminology;
• Social Work;
• Intervention Techniques in Delinquency;
• Specialized Education Techniques;
• Psychoeducation;
• Any other relevant discipline.

Desired Profile

• No prior experience is required;
• Knowledge of the Quebec judicial or correctional system is considered an asset;
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to build trust with clients;
• Sense of organization and responsibility;
• Ability to work in a team and with different partners;
• Discretion and respect for confidentiality;
• Comfort with computer tools and videoconferencing.

Training and support will be provided to help the selected person understand their responsibilities and the Centre's procedures.

Working Conditions

• Full-time position;
• 35 hours per week;
• Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
• Salary of $28.40 per hour;
