As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in processing North American payroll for over 10,000 employees across various iA Financial Group subsidiaries, while ensuring compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

What You Will Accomplish with Us
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be at the heart of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities: Process North American payroll bi-weekly with the payroll team;
Monitor and control employee life events, including hires, compensation changes, absences, and terminations;
Generate various reports, including those related to pension funds and the stock purchase plan;
Issue employment statements and process special payments;
Participate in annual processes, such as bonuses, vacation pay, production of T4, T4A, and Relevé 1 tax forms, and salary reporting to the CNESST;
Complete forms required by various government levels and provide information for annual audits;
Act as a resource person to support responses to complex requests from the payroll team and the Employee Contact Center, while managing escalations to stakeholders;
Contribute to continuous process improvement, participate in various payroll projects, and act as a spokesperson for presentations to North American employees.
What Could Accelerate Your Success in This Role
We are looking for someone who:
Is recognized for their expertise in North American payroll and their knowledge of the Workday system;
Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office suite, with advanced Excel required and Power Query considered an asset;
Shows a high level of rigor, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously;
Is recognized for their ability to manage busy work periods and multiple priorities;
Has 10 years of relevant experience and a DEC in accounting or administration;
Holds certification from the INP or APA;
Demonstrates a strong interest in new technologies, artificial intelligence, and process improvement;
Is comfortable speaking in front of large groups;
Intermediate English language proficiency is required, as the successful candidate will be expected to participate in English-only meetings with unilingual English-speaking employees and partners located in the U.S. on a daily basis.
