- Your role
Ropack Pharma Solutions is looking for an experienced cost and planning analyst to manage the establishment of activity-based costs (job costing) as well as the planning of production and capacities within our contract manufacturing and packaging operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this dual-function role combines the visibility of costs for client pricing and margin analysis with the planning of production directly in our Integrated Planning System, ensuring both financial rigor and operational fluidity in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Your responsibilities
1. Costs
- Manage the establishment of activity-based costs (ABC);
- Track costs (actual vs. estimated/quoted) by Manufacturing Order (MO);
- Calculate the various prices required for client project proposals and margin analysis for new formats, formulations, and packaging types in collaboration with the sales department;
- Develop cost models for technology transfer projects, including validation batches, engineering batches, and scaling costs;
- Analyze cost factors, including yield, rejects, rework, and labor efficiency;
- Collaborate with procurement to track trends in raw material and packaging component costs;
- Participate in and/or initiate continuous improvement projects aimed at achieving world-class operational efficiency according to Lean Six Sigma methodology and others;
- Prepare monthly cost and margin reports for management.
2. Production and Capacity Planning
- Ensure production and capacity planning in the Integrated Planning System;
- Plan production (MRP), optimize capacity, and sequence operations;
- Monitor capacity utilization and proactively report bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts;
- Participate in production quick meetings;
- Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure agile, effective, and fast communication;
- Perform all related tasks as needed by the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, sciences, management, or related field;
- 5 to 7 years and more combined experience in cost accounting and/or production planning in a regulated manufacturing environment; experience in pharma/impartition (CMO/CPO) strongly desired;
- Demonstrated experience with activity-based costing (ABC) — profiles solely in standard costing will require a significant adaptation period;
- Practical experience with planning/scheduling ERP modules (experience with an integrated planning system is a significant asset; training possible for SAP/Oracle or similar profiles);
- Experience in costing for technology transfer, scaling, or validation projects;
- Good understanding of production capacity planning in a multiclient or multiproduct environment;
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, engineering, procurement, sales, and IT teams;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) including Macros and Pivot Tables, MRP/ERP systems, and Microsoft Dynamics GP/SAP;
- Ability to synthesize and interpret data to produce relevant analyses and support decision-making;
- Knowledge of advanced planning processes;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork;
- Experience in continuous improvement and cost optimization;
- Experience in regulated manufacturing sectors, including pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, veterinary, and aerospace.
Asset(s)
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Employment type: Full-time, Permanent
- Location: 10801 Mirabeau Street, Anjou H1J 17T
