IBM i (AS400) Administrator

CGI is looking for an IBM i (AS400) Administrator to support and administer critical environments within the financial services sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, availability, stability, and performance of IBM i (AS400) production and non-production platforms. You will collaborate closely with RPG development teams, functional analysts, infrastructure teams, and various technology partners to ensure the continuity of operations and the quality of services provided to our clients.

Functions and Responsibilities

As an IBM i (AS400) Administrator, you will be called upon to: Administer IBM i (AS400) production and non-production environments.

Ensure the availability, performance, capacity, and stability of IBM i platforms.

Manage system objects, libraries, job queues, user profiles, and security authorities.

Administer DB2/400 databases.

Perform backups, restorations, and participate in IT disaster recovery activities.

Monitor batch processing, analyze anomalies, and resume failed processes.

Participate in production deployments, application deployments, and technical changes.

Administer operational management tools such as Robot, Implementer, or equivalent solutions.

Manage secure file transfers (MFT, FTP, SFTP).

Diagnose and resolve level 2 and 3 technical incidents in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).

Collaborate with RPG development teams, functional analysts, infrastructure teams, and technology partners.

Participate in the analysis of recurring incidents and propose solutions to improve environment stability.

Contribute to change management activities according to ITIL best practices.

Produce, maintain, and update technical documentation and operational procedures.

Participate in continuous improvement and operational automation initiatives.

Prepare technical reports for clients or management.

Participate, if necessary, in on-call support rotation (24/7).

Perform any other tasks related to the role.

Required Qualifications

Education

College or university diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in administering IBM i (AS400) environments.

Experience in critical production environments.

Experience in administering DB2/400 databases.

Experience in managing batch processing and production operations.

Experience in backup, restoration, and IT disaster recovery.

Experience in production deployments and change management.

Knowledge of ITIL processes.

Assets

The following skills will be considered important assets: Experience with Robot, Implementer, or similar tools.

Knowledge of secure file transfer solutions (MFT, FTP, SFTP).

Knowledge of RPG environments.

Experience in operational automation.

Experience in the financial services sector or in another highly regulated environment.

• CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particularities of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $70,000 and $135,000. This position is open.
