The Windsor facility (Quebec, Canada) is looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Health and Safety Director. This is a full-time permanent position.

  • Main responsibilities:

Reporting to the general manager, you will act as a strategic leader to promote a culture of prevention, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization. Support managers and teams in proactive risk management while mobilizing and developing the SST team. More specifically:

Leadership and SST culture

  • Define and implement the site's SST vision based on corporate programs;
  • Promote a culture of prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement;
  • Support managers in integrating SST best practices.

Risk management and operational excellence

  • Structure and optimize the implementation of SST programs, policies, and procedures;
  • Ensure proactive identification and management of risks;
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action plans;
  • Ensure compliance with SST laws and regulations.

Engagement and field presence

  • Develop initiatives to engage employees in SST;
  • Maintain active field presence with teams and managers;
  • Strengthen the safety culture through communication and awareness.

Team management

  • Supervise, mobilize, and develop the SST team;
  • Prioritize actions according to operational needs;
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented approach.

Workplace accident management

  • In collaboration with your health team, manage the administrative files of workplace accident cases.

Professional experience and qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field (industrial relations, operations management, human resources, or another related field);
  • 10 years of experience in occupational health and safety, with several years in a management role;
  • Significant experience in team management and supporting managers;
  • Strong experience in developing an SST culture and managing change;
  • Mastery of SST laws and regulations;
  • Recognized for your leadership, managerial courage, and influence;
  • Excellent relational and communication skills;
  • Bilingual* (French and English, spoken and written).
  • This requirement is mandatory as you will need to interact with clients, partners, and/or our American subsidiaries on a regular basis, both orally and in writing.
