Director of Excellence Center

We are looking for a Director of Excellence Center for our Montreal plant (located in the Rivière-des-Prairies district...)

Under the responsibility of the Vice President of Operations and in partnership with the management team, the Director of the Excellence Center ensures the planning, organization, control, and direction of the production of its manufacturing plant. He must promote cost reduction by establishing or maintaining the best production practices. He must have excellent knowledge of the company's strategic orientations as well as the existing plant processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering;
• MBA, an asset;
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in plant management;
• Experience in a 4.0 plant (automation, connectivity, BI, artificial intelligence);
• Be a member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
• Knowledge of operational excellence principles;
• Knowledge of financial principles;
• Advanced mastery of Excel and other Office suite applications;
• Bilingual French/English (an asset) - the job holder will occasionally need to communicate orally and in writing with external partners;
• Ability to withstand pressure;
• Ability to perform effective priority management;
• Ability to synthesize information;
• Possess adequate political and leadership skills;
• Possess very high relational and communication skills;
• Adequate problem-solving skills;

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Supervise the work of the multidisciplinary team of the excellence center, from the industrialization and machining phase to the inspection phase;
• Plan the necessary capacity resources in connection with the various customer programs;
• Optimize the use of work tools and equipment and ensure their proper maintenance;
• Ensure optimal productivity (lean) of the excellence center according to production needs and use appropriate strategies to correct the situation if necessary;
• Collaborate directly with the management for the preparation of various business plans;
• Ensure the updating of data for key performance indicators (costs, delivery rate, inventory, quality, engineering, bids, etc.) and the achievement of objectives related to his excellence center;
• Direct and supervise the work of the service managers of his excellence center;
• Initiate improvement tracks for existing programs, whether at the profitability level or the operations level, and share them with his team or the management;
• Continuously promote, in collaboration with the human resources department, the application and respect of the company's rules;
• Actively participate in the operating committee or other committee by sharing with the team the projects, results, and indicators of his excellence center.
