Software Designer – Automated Testing

We are looking for a Software Designer specializing in automated testing to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team. In this role, you will contribute to ensuring the quality of our products by developing, maintaining, and evolving our automated testing infrastructure.

You will work closely with the development teams to define, implement, and execute software validation strategies. You will also participate in the evaluation and adoption of new tools and best practices in quality assurance to continuously improve test coverage and efficiency.

In addition to automation activities, you will be called upon to perform exploratory and functional manual tests to validate new products, features, and fixes.

Your Role

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for EXFO's software and embedded products.
• Participate in the evolution and maintenance of the automated testing infrastructure and validation environments.
• Collaborate closely with developers to define test scenarios from the early stages of development.
• Develop tools to improve the efficiency, reliability, and repeatability of tests.
• Integrate test suites into continuous integration and delivery pipelines (CI/CD).
• Analyze test results, identify the causes of failures, and ensure follow-up on fixes.
• Perform manual functional, exploratory, integration, and regression tests.
• Participate in the development of validation strategies and quality criteria.
• Conduct technological research and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and test methodologies.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in software development and test automation.
• Good mastery of at least one programming language such as Python, C#, Java, or C++.
• Experience with test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of continuous integration principles and CI/CD environments.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and modern quality assurance practices.
• Ability to analyze and diagnose complex software problems.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
