What you will accomplish in this role
- Participate in the architecture and design of products;
- Perform 3D modeling and 2D technical drawings necessary for manufacturing;
- Follow up on the different phases of development, from ideation to prototype testing;
- Contribute to the development of components and follow up on the manufacture of prototypes;
- Collaborate with the design and engineering team to find innovative solutions and solve problems;
- Define projects: needs, issues, performance criteria and deliverables;
- Formulate technical recommendations taking into account competitive advantages;
- Communicate with different internal groups and suppliers on technical aspects;
- Participate in the preparation of quotes and the realization of contracts in R&D;
- Respect development deadlines.
Essential skills sought
- Hold a D.E.C. in mechanical engineering, design option, or equivalent;
- Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in product development;
- Sharp sense of mechanics and excellent 3D visualization;
- Mastery of Catia or Solidworks or other design software;
- Knowledge of dimensional and geometric tolerance standards (GD&T) is an asset;
- Ability to work in a project start-up context and manage evolving objectives;
- You are bilingual (French / English) – English proficiency is required for our international clients and our Quebec clients with international projects;
- You are available for 5 days of work in person in Sherbrooke. Mobility support may be offered: under certain conditions, a relocation annex can be set up.
