Recreation Technician

Job Description – Recreation Technician CHSLD Saint-Vincent-Marie is looking for a Recreation Technician.

Full-time permanent position

Salary: $27.30 to $35.31 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week – Day shift

Location: CHSLD Saint-Vincent-Marie – Montreal (Ville Saint-Laurent)

On-site position

CHSLD Saint-Vincent-Marie is looking for a passionate Recreation Technician to join their team and contribute to the well-being and quality of life of their residents.

In a warm and human living environment, the person holding this position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and animating activities adapted to the interests, abilities, and needs of the residents. They will contribute to creating a stimulating, dynamic environment that fosters social interactions, personal fulfillment, and the maintenance of social bonds.

Your main responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and animate social, recreational, and cultural activities at the residence;
• Ensure the animation of varied activities such as games, bingo, themed parties, concerts, workshops, and other special events;
• Create a positive, stimulating atmosphere adapted to the abilities of the residents;
• Develop activities that promote socialization, participation, and the maintenance of residents' autonomy;
• Identify the interests, needs, and abilities of the residents to propose adapted programming;
• Research and propose innovative activities that meet the expectations of the clientele;
• Collaborate with the care team and various intervenors to ensure a resident-centered approach;
• Participate in the organization of special events and gathering activities within the residence;
• Perform any other tasks related to the smooth running of recreational activities.

Your qualifications

• Hold a college diploma (DEC) in leisure intervention techniques or equivalent training;
• Have experience with an elderly clientele or in a living environment (an asset);
• Possess a good sense of organization, planning, and priority management;
• Demonstrate the ability to organize and coordinate activities and events;
• Possess good communication skills and enjoy working in a team;
• Show creativity, initiative, and autonomy;
• Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine concern for the well-being of the residents;
• Have a resident-centered and service quality-oriented approach.
