What You Will Accomplish with Us
As an underwriter, you will be at the heart of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
Assess the risk on individual life insurance, critical illness, and disability applications to establish a fair, appropriate, and competitive selection
Analyze medical and non-medical information to identify any potential risk or issue
Use underwriting guidelines and procedures to make informed underwriting decisions.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness in completing underwriting tasks and processes
Communicate with stakeholders to obtain additional information or clarify questions related to underwriting decisions
What Could Accelerate Your Success in This Role
We are looking for someone who: Is recognized for their analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Is client-focused and adopts a holistic approach in the overall risk assessment
Holds a college or university degree in health sciences or a related field
Holds or is working towards the FLMI or LOMA designation
Has a minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting in the areas of life insurance, critical illness, and disability
Has advanced English language proficiency as the person will be required to analyze information, consult and read reports and documentation, write emails, and communicate with English-speaking clients and external partners on a daily basis.
