Employment Family Group: Sales and Service, Banking Services for Individuals
Provide financial planning and investment planning advice and services to offer clients a solution that serves their interests. Determine clients' needs and offer solutions through the sale of managed program products and services (e.g., investment funds, retirement savings plans, and similar products). Provide other solutions, indirectly, through client referrals to partners.
- Take the lead by proactively communicating with new and existing clients by conducting need-based evaluations to increase loyalty and target immediate and future opportunities.
- Implement business expansion strategies to acquire new clients (proactive calling campaigns and employee referral follow-up).
- Encourage clients to grow their relationship with BMO by communicating with them, scheduling appointments, and establishing new connections within the community.
- Identify opportunities during client meetings to provide referrals for individual and business banking products (e.g., personal banking, credit, and investment needs).
- Support the achievement of sales and performance targets.
- Develop and implement a customer relationship management plan to meet client needs.
- Respond to client investment requests to meet their needs for investment products that align with their goals and direct clients to partners, if necessary.
- Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide ideas and recommendations.
- Perform tasks to provide accurate and efficient services in a timely manner.
- Present investment strategies to clients and work with them to establish goals and provide them with the means to improve their finances through appropriate guidance tools.
- Understand clients' investment and personal banking needs and integrate promotional offers and marketing programs into client meetings to provide strategic advice.
- Seek ways to contribute to the continuous improvement of global business results and the customer experience offered.
- Keep up-to-date with knowledge related to individual investment products, practices, and trends, and incorporate them into client meetings.
- Work across multiple branches and through various channels, as needed, to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall goals.
- Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Protect the Bank's assets and comply with all legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
- Possibly focus on a specific industry or business segment.
- Think creatively and propose new solutions.
- Exercise good judgment to identify problems, determine their causes, and resolve them within established limits.

Qualifications
- Generally three to five years of relevant professional experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Meet the regulatory or supervisory body's requirements for authorization and registration as a financial planner in the province or territory of employment.
- Advanced practical knowledge of the financial sector.
- Specialized knowledge gained through education or work experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salaries for part-time positions will be calculated on a prorated basis for the number of regularly worked hours. For commission-based roles, the mentioned salary represents BMO Financial Group's target for the first year in the position.
