Under the supervision of the fitness facility manager, the instructor provides quality service by creating a safe and welcoming environment for all YMCA members. He (she) designs initial basic programs based on members' specific needs and fitness goals. He (she) is accessible and visible in the fitness facility and serves as an important resource within the premises. He (she) monitors activities in the fitness facility to ensure the safety and well-being of all members. He (she) informs and encourages them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The challenge we offer you
- Design an initial basic program based on the member's specific needs and fitness goals;
- Explain and demonstrate exercises using proper technique;
- Guide new members by presenting the facilities, equipment, and rules and regulations;
- Provide excellent customer service by being available, attentive, and ready to help members when needed;
- Circulate in the fitness facility, engage in conversation with members, and offer assistance;
- Intervene tactfully and diplomatically if a member performs an exercise that poses potential injury risks;
- Keep the fitness facility clean, orderly, and safe;
- Administer CPR and first aid in case of emergency;
- Ensure the proper functioning and quality of the equipment and inform the fitness facility supervisor if an equipment is defective or damaged;
- Adhere to the YMCA policies and procedures governing child protection;
- Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy within the role and the Association.

- The person we are looking for
- Hold a YMCA Private Trainer (FIT) certification or equivalent;
- Hold a CPR certification;
- Hold a first aid certification (an asset);
- Have experience as an instructor;
- Have experience in customer service (an asset);
- Be comfortable with software applications;
- Be fluent in French, both orally and in writing;
- Have no legal restrictions related to the job.
- Schedule: Morning shift, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Employment type: Part-time, contract until February 2027 with possibility of extension
