Description
The accounting technician is responsible for complete bookkeeping, as well as the entry and processing of information necessary for the preparation of corporate tax returns (T2/CO-17) and personal tax returns (T1/TP-1).
Duties
- Bookkeeping
- Entry of accounting transactions (revenue, expenses, journal entries)
- Bank and credit card reconciliation
- Management of customer and vendor accounts
- Preparation and recording of end-of-month entries
- Filing and organizing supporting documents
- Maintenance of up-to-date accounting files
- Fiscal – Data Entry
- Prepare work files for tax returns
- Enter financial information into tax software (T2/CO-17 and T1/TP-1)
- Compile required documents (financial statements, reports, tax forms)
- Verify the accuracy of entered data
- Follow up on missing information from clients
- Support to CPAs
- Assist CPAs in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns
- Make requested adjustments
- Participate in the preparation of end-of-year files
- Respond to internal requests related to client files
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in a firm
- Degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Good knowledge of Quickbooks, Sage, DT Max and DT Formax or Taxprep software
- Meticulousness, autonomy, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
- Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Salary: $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
