We are currently looking for a senior communication advisor. The selected person will play a strategic role in supporting the planning, deployment, and evaluation of organizational communication strategies that are coherent, effective, and adapted to internal and external audiences. The position is offered in a hybrid mode, with a base in Longueuil, Saint-Hyacinthe, or Sorel-Tracy.

Under the authority of the head of the communications service, the senior communication advisor acts as a strategic partner with the management and teams. As an expert, he or she contributes to defining communication orientations, advises managers on complex files, and ensures the implementation of integrated strategies that meet the organization's needs.

He or she plans, coordinates, and evaluates internal and external communication strategies, taking into account organizational issues, target audiences, institutional priorities, and available resources.

He or she exercises an advisory role with the management, accompanies teams in the management of sensitive or cross-cutting files, and contributes to ensuring the consistency of messages, tools, and communication approaches.

He or she may be called upon to work directly with the president and CEO.

The person sought is distinguished by his or her professional leadership, strategic judgment, analytical capacity, and political sense. He or she demonstrates autonomy, rigor, and flexibility in managing varied, sometimes complex or time-sensitive files.

Recognized for his or her relationship skills, ability to positively influence, and collaborative approach, he or she actively engages with the organization's issues and contributes to the evolution of communication practices.

Responsibilities of the senior communication advisor

  • Acts as an expert advisor to client management in the definition, planning, and implementation of organizational communication strategies.
  • Takes on complex, sensitive, or cross-cutting mandates, ensuring a strategic reading of issues and effective coordination of communication actions.
  • Develops internal and external communication plans, coordinates their implementation, ensures the necessary follow-ups, and evaluates the achievement of the targeted objectives.
  • Advises managers on messages, approaches, target audiences, preferred channels, and communication risks to consider.
  • Designs, writes, and revises strategic content, including organizational messages, notes, speeches, arguments, articles, information tools, and reference documents.
  • Contributes to the analysis of the organizational image and recommends strategies to strengthen the establishment's reputation, consistency, and credibility with its various audiences.
  • Develops or improves communication tools, processes, and practices to enhance their relevance, effectiveness, and reach.
  • Participates in committee or working group work where advanced communication expertise is required.
  • Collaborates closely with communication team members to ensure the consistency of actions, the sharing of expertise, and the quality of deliverables.
  • Supports, if needed, the planning and implementation of organizational events or activities requiring communication support.

Requirements

  • Must hold a bachelor's degree in administrative sciences or another appropriate university discipline;
  • Possess significant experience in organizational, strategic, or institutional communication;
  • Experience in the health and social services network, an important asset;
  • Excellent mastery of spoken and written French, including strong skills in writing, popularization, synthesis, and revision;
  • Demonstrated ability to advise managers, manage multiple files simultaneously, and work in complex or evolving contexts;
  • Proficiency in the Office suite and ease with digital tools and communication platforms;
  • Automobile required.
