Fives services inc. is currently growing and is looking for a strategic buyer to join its procurement team. Specifically, this person is responsible for defining and implementing procurement strategies for purchase categories related to the company's projects. They analyze supplier markets, identify new procurement sources, and negotiate commercial agreements to ensure the availability of equipment, services, and subcontracting needed to complete the projects.

They work closely with project teams, engineering, and quality to optimize costs, secure supplies, and manage supply chain risks. They also support portfolio buyers in implementing procurement strategies and executing procurement processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies by purchase category in line with project needs;
• Identify and analyze key commodities needed for sites and projects;
• Conduct supplier market analyses to identify new procurement opportunities;
• Maintain a network of reliable and high-performing suppliers to support the company's projects;
• Identify, qualify, and integrate new strategic suppliers;
• Negotiate commercial and contractual terms, including prices, delivery times, payment conditions, and long-term agreements;
• Support project teams in preparing and analyzing major RFPs;
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost, service);
• Establish supplier performance indicators and participate in periodic evaluations;
• Analyze technical specifications, plans, and BOMs to understand procurement needs;
• Participate in procurement budget management and cost optimization for projects;
• Manage international procurement flows, including understanding Incoterms and customs requirements;
• Oversee the documentary management of procurement transactions, including contracts, export/import documents, and certifications;
• Identify and manage risks in the supply chain, including supplier diversification and supply security;
• Collaborate closely with project teams, engineering, and quality to ensure the consistency of procurement strategies;
• Occasionally conduct supplier visits and audits to validate technical and operational capabilities;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and purchasing practices.

Required Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field (operations management, supply chain, engineering, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing.
• Experience in commercial negotiation and supplier management.
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international procurement environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of an ERP (SAP or equivalent).
• Proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written. Must be able to support a professional conversation and write in English with suppliers worldwide;
• This position requires occasional travel and a valid driver's license.
