Data Analyst - Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Expert

Skills required: Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure cloud analytics, data modeling, and FinOpsThe team of Infrastructure and Information Technology of the Vice Presidency of Security, Infrastructure and Operations is looking for a senior consultant or expert specializing in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to oversee the end-to-end design and implementation of analytical solutions in Microsoft Fabric.

The mandate takes place in the context of Azure cloud analytics and FinOps, where several technical, financial, and operational data sources must be integrated, modeled, and leveraged to support decision-making.

The consultant will be responsible for evaluating and evolving the existing environment, both in terms of architecture and data integration, modeling, and presentation. They will act as the primary technical lead for implementing the chosen solutions in Microsoft Fabric, working closely with existing resources to ensure alignment, knowledge transfer, and the longevity of the implemented assets.

Functions and Responsibilities . Evaluate the existing analytical environment, including datasets, models, Power BI reports, integration flows, and Microsoft Fabric-related assets.

. Design and implement end-to-end analytical solutions in Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, OneLake, data pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI reports.

. Review, rationalize, and evolve the current portfolio of a dozen analytical reports, taking into account business and operational priorities.

. Integrate, transform, and model data from technical, financial, and operational sources, including Azure, cloud costs, and FinOps practices.

. Design robust, maintainable, and reusable semantic models to support reliable and consistent analysis in Power BI.

. Develop modern, visually appealing dashboards tailored to various audiences, including executives and technical users.

. Define the architecture, data model, and report implementation framework for additional reports that can be initiated based on priorities.

. Work as an active team member to ensure solution alignment, knowledge transfer, and the longevity of implemented assets.

Qualities Required for Success in This Role

Consultant Profile Sought . Relevant education in computer science, information systems, software engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related field.

. Senior or expert experience in designing, implementing, and deploying enterprise analytical solutions.

. Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Fabric solutions in production, including Lakehouse, OneLake, data pipelines, and semantic models.

. Excellent proficiency in Power BI, including report design, data modeling, measures, performance, and user experience.

. Ability to integrate and model data from multiple sources, including technical, financial, and operational data.

. Strong understanding of Azure cloud analytics architecture and data governance, security, and maintainability principles.

. Knowledge of FinOps practices and ability to leverage cloud cost, usage, optimization, and recommendation data.

. Familiarity with the Open Cost & Usage Specification standard, Azure Cost Management + Billing, Azure Advisor, and Azure Resource Graph is considered a significant asset.

. Autonomy, diligence, ability to take end-to-end deliverables, and effective collaboration with an existing team.

. Ability to communicate analytical results and adapt visualizations to executive, technical, and operational audiences.

Distinctive Assets . Demonstrated experience in modernizing or rationalizing an existing portfolio of analytical reports.

. Sharp sense of business value, presentation quality, and user experience in analytical solutions.

. Ability to establish reusable and enduring foundations for the future evolution of reports, data models, and Microsoft Fabric assets.

CGI offers a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The calculation of this range depends on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Salary decisions depend on the particulars of each case. A reasonable estimate of this salary range is between $60,000 and $120,000. This position is currently open.
