Teach flight methods and rules to student pilots, including theoretical courses such as air navigation, radio communication procedures, and air traffic regulations

Perform post-flight inspections

Prepare licensed pilots to obtain a higher class license

Train and prepare pilots for exams

Coordinate flight activities with runway and air traffic control personnel, inform crew members about flight and inspection procedures, and direct crew activities during flight

Conduct pre-flight aircraft inspections and verify passenger and cargo distribution to ensure compliance with weight and balance specifications

Contact air traffic control for takeoff authorization, arrival instructions, and other information

Maintain contact with flight regulation agents and meteorologists, report and respond to any in-flight emergencies or malfunctions

Prepare flight evaluation reports

Competency Titles (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.)

Commercial Pilot License (fixed-wing aircraft)

Transport Canada Flight Instructor Qualification

Airline Pilot License (fixed-wing aircraft)
