We are currently looking for a

Construction Technician to join our team in the

Montreal region.

Responsibilities

  • Solution Analysis: Find the most effective ways to respond to common functional requirements. Involve respect for procedures and precedents.
  • Controls: Develop test standards and procedures under the guidance of professional colleagues. Assist project engineers in inspecting and verifying construction and rehabilitation work on transportation infrastructure (roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels) as well as construction work on industrial and commercial buildings (excavation and concrete work);
  • Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures as well as relevant codes and regulations to ensure that your work complies with these standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exception to the mandatory procedure. Perform sampling and quality control tests on materials in the field on soils, aggregates, cement concrete, and bituminous pavements.
  • Product and Solution Development: Support others by leading a series of activities related to product research and development, such as analyzing customer situations or interpreting data.
  • Design and Installation of Facilities and Equipment: Install facilities and equipment according to the agreed design, under close supervision to meet specified operational requirements, the organization's engineering standards, and regulatory standards. Check formwork and reinforcing steel.
  • Monitor Excavation Work
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others and enter it into spreadsheets or standard formats. Write construction reports and prepare other technical documents.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Perform basic technical troubleshooting tasks, such as identifying obvious technical problems with equipment and experiences and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.
  • Personal Capacity Building: Develop and maintain excellent skills in process or technique, by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal training and coaching activities.

Education and Skills

  • College Diploma (DEC) or College Attestation (AEC) in Civil Engineering, an asset;
  • AEC/DEC in Civil Engineering;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience required;
  • Excellent French both spoken and written;
  • Hold the ASP Construction Card;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a vehicle;
  • Independent, resourceful, and punctual;
  • Available for variable hours.
