What will you contribute to the team?
- Screen SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) in material and process specifications, the qualified product library, and the parts database of Bombardier.
- Conduct SVHC impact analysis in relation to regulatory requirements in collaboration with material and process specialists and sustainable development.
- Conduct investigations into SVHC-free material and process replacements.
- Lead material qualification test plans and updates to specifications governing replacement technologies.
- Tactical support to Bombardier's Environmental Compliance Office in conducting investigations as part of the obsolescence and phased elimination roadmap.
- Perform substance weight calculations for special cases at the component level up to aircraft assemblies.
- Support the update of Bombardier Aviation's product nomenclature database.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the product data sheet management system.
- Support Bombardier representatives within international environmental associations in the field of authorization, restriction, and replacement technologies for materials and substances.
How will you thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering such as chemical engineering or materials engineering or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry (preferably with a supplier).
- You are familiar with typical military and/or aerospace industry standards such as MIL specifications, federal regulations, ASTM, ISO, and SAE specifications.
- You have practical knowledge of CATIA V5 navigator and are able to interpret engineering drawings.
- You have good knowledge of chemical processes and non-metallic materials such as paints, primers, sealants, adhesives, and composites (an asset).
- You have practical knowledge of the main environmental regulations and substance declaration standards (an asset).
- You have practical knowledge of substance presence methods in articles, complex products, and substance mass calculations (an asset).
- You have good knowledge of MS Office and experience with Power BI (an asset).
- You have a team spirit and respect individual opinions while working towards common goals.
- You have good oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English).
