General Building Maintenance Interview (Evening Shift) – Place Ville Marie

Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor, the General Building Maintenance Assistant performs various general maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks on facilities. They actively contribute to keeping the premises in good condition and support other trades by carrying out preparatory and corrective work. This position requires a versatile, autonomous, and motivated individual who enjoys taking on challenges and actively contributing to the smooth operation of the facilities.

Main Responsibilities

• Replace damaged or worn-out ceiling tiles.
• Open walls and ceilings to facilitate interventions by other trades.
• Perform minor and major repairs of gypsum.
• Carry out touch-up painting and finishing work.
• Install, repair, or replace various types of floor coverings.
• Respond to emergencies such as basic toilet and other sanitary equipment unclogging.
• Maintain workspaces clean and safe.
• Perform any other tasks related to general building maintenance.

Requirements and Desired Skills

• Diploma in General Building Maintenance (an asset)
• Relevant experience in general building maintenance or a related field.
• Good knowledge of basic materials and tools related to construction and repair work.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Skill in managing multiple tasks simultaneously and setting priorities.
• Concern for well-done work and the quality of repairs.
• Autonomy, resourcefulness, and initiative.
• Enjoy challenges and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
• Good judgment and organizational skills.
• Concise.

Working Conditions

• Evening shift: 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Salary of $32.486/hour, with a 3% salary increase planned at the end of the year.
• Evening shift premium applicable according to current policies.
• Unionized position governed by the current collective agreement.
• Painting premium applicable for days with more than 3 hours of painting work.
• Varied work offering daily challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Regular use of manual and electrical tools as well as maintenance equipment.
